Hi, is it possible to change where the results of the search are shown? Right now my search form is on a separate page from the members page and I would like to show the results as a list next to the search form. Is this possible? Thanks for your help.

    Regards, Victoria

    Hi Victoria,

You could display the search form in the members page after the title, using the option Add Form to Directory, or in a sidebar of the members page, using the widget Profile Search.

If you don’t want to alter the members page, you can build an additional members directory with the [bps_directory] shortcode, and use this additional directory to display both the form and the search results, see:

Hi, my issue is more that I would like the results to be shown next to the search form. Once the search button is pressed, it opens a new page from the members directory showing the members who match that search. Is it possible to have the search results shown adjacent to the search form and not a new page opens? Thanks for the help. Vic

Search results can only be shown in a directory. If you put the search form in that directory, after the title or in a sidebar, when you hit Search the results will be shown on the same page (the page will be reloaded anyway).

Did I understand your question correctly?
