BP Profile Search › Search Form Only Visible to Admin

Having one of the weirdest issues, I have no doubt this is an anomaly. I set a profile search form on my homepage, it’s shows up just fine when I’m logged in as my admin but when I log out or view the homepage as another user all the fields disappear and only the “search” button remains.
I’ve done the usual troubleshooting steps. Deactivated all the plugins except buddy press and bp profile, nothing. I’ve also deleted both buddy press and bp profile and reinstalled them, nothing.
What’s troublesome is everything was working just fine for the most part of the day so something must have happened, some code must have been rewritten somewhere on accident.
Any clue? or should I just give up and reinstall WordPress?
andreaPlugin AuthorHi Dave,
I’m sorry, I’m not able to reproduce this issue, and I can’t imagine why it’s happening.
If you wish I can have a look at your site, see http://dontdream.it/support-options/ for details.
DaveGuestIt’s probably some weird happenstance, no worries I’ll just start from absolute scratch, thank you very much for taking the time to respond!
Ignacio Prad0GuestI am having the same issue, though the variable is not being admin: it’s simply being logged in.
When logged in, the input fields render. When not logged in, only the submit button and an input field of type “hidden” renders.
This is the logged out html:
<div id='buddypress'> <form action='http://test.printscholars.org/member-directory/' method='GET' id='bps_action403' class='standard-form'> <div class='submit'> <input type='submit' value='Search' /> </div> <input type='hidden' name='bp_profile_search' value='403' /> </form> </div>
Any insight into what’s going on here?
andreaPlugin AuthorHello Ignacio,
Unfortunately I’m not able to reproduce this issue.
Try deactivating all the other plugins and switching to a default theme. If the problem remains, I am available to debug it on your site. Please let me know!
Ignacio Prad0GuestHi Andrea,
It appears to be a conflict with https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-xprofile-wp-user-sync/
Fields showup, even when logged out, when that plugin is deactivated.
andreaPlugin AuthorThank you Ignacio, I’ll look into that plugin and I’ll let you know what I find out.
andreaPlugin AuthorHi Ignacio,
I think I found a workaround. If, after activating BP XProfile WordPress User Sync, you edit your BP Profile Search forms and update them, the fields are shown even for non logged-in users.
Can you confirm this?
