Not sure if I’m missing something – but I’ve created a search form and decided to place it in the right sidebar as a widget. All is OK except the input fields for the range search are apparently narrowed inside the sidebar. There is plenty of room, and I’d like to see them wider, as the expected input is partially hidden. Looking at the source, it appears the width is set to 10% by an inline style, which I haven’t been able to figure out how to override. It is obviously fine in a main page.

You can see it at http://www.waynealumni.org in the sidebar area called Display Class Directory.

I like the idea of being able to place in a widget, but seems like the styles aren’t quite right. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,

It’s possible to copy a template from the plugin to a theme, then modify it.

In your case, you can copy:

    wp-content/plugins/bp-profile-search/templates/members/bps-form-legacy.php

    to:

    wp-content/themes/sequential_bd/buddypress/members/bps-form-legacy.php

then, in the new file, you can change the 10% value to another value, say 20%.

If you like customizing your templates, you could even replace the two input boxes in your Search Range with two select drop-down lists, or make any other changes you may need.

    Andrea,

    Yes, that did the trick!

    Thanks for your help.
