GuestRecently – not sure when – the autocomplete of locations from google stopped working unless user is logged in to the wordpress dashboard. We need this to work again for the general public visiting the site. Can you help?

Plugin AuthorHi Michael,
I’ve just released BP Profile Search 5.7.1 that should fix the problem you reported.
Could you please test it on your site?
Michael Spencer
GuestSorry but it seems to make no difference.

Plugin AuthorThanks Michael.
May I access your test site as an administrator, to better understand the problem? You can use my Contact page to share username and password privately.

GuestIt is a live site unfortunately but I can give you access. Will provide user and password on your contact page.

Plugin AuthorThank you Michael for the admin credentials.
I noticed that jQuery was not loaded on the problem page, and this prevented the autocomplete field from working.
So I installed the Code Snippets plugin and added a snippet that loads jQuery if it’s missing.
Now the autocomplete field works as expected, but if you prefer to add some code to your bp-custom.php file instead of using Code Snippets, just let me know!

GuestAndrea, Thank you for the fix. Any thoughts on why that would be happening? Is it something related to your plugin or something odd about that web page.
andrea
Plugin AuthorIt’s related to BP Profile Search, and I’m going to fix it in the next release.
The BP Profile Search form needs jQuery, but it doesn’t load it itself.
In the vast majority of settings, jQuery is loaded by other components but, if this doesn’t happen, the search form doesn’t find jQuery and silently fails.
