GuestHello,
for test, with a local website and menubar extension, i’ve just updated WordPress with the new 5.5 version. The result is that sublevel of menubar does not work anymore…
Do you still maintain the menubar extension ?Thanks for your answer
andrea
Plugin AuthorHello Pasglop,
With WordPress 5.5, Menubar requires activating the plugin:
I’m going to release an update soon, to clarify this issue or, hopefully, to fix it.
Pasglop
GuestThanks for the answer…
Pasglop
GuestIt doesn’t work with Enable Jquery Migrate Helper, i’ve just tested it…
andrea
Plugin AuthorDo you see errors in your browser console, or in the WordPress admin area?
Pasglop
GuestIn my console, i’ve got that:
Uncaught TypeError: $.browser is undefined in superfish.js
Uncaught TypeError: menu is undefined in superfish.js
andrea
Plugin AuthorThose are the errors that Enable jQuery Migrate Helper should fix. Are you sure that Enable jQuery Migrate Helper is correctly activated?
Pasglop
GuestYes, it was. but i have disabled jquery updater, and it’s ok now. The both Jquery plugins are not compatible…
andrea
Plugin AuthorI’m going to release a Menubar update, specifying it needs Enable jQuery Migrate Helper until I upgrade the Superfish code to the latest version.
Thank you for your help!
Michelle
GuestHi Andrea,
Just wondering if your update has been released or will soon be? I have the same issue as the above. Have enabled the jQuery Migrate Helper in the meantime.
Thanks
andrea
Plugin AuthorHi Michelle,
I plan to release the updated version of Menubar with WordPress 5.6. As a reminder, these changes don’t affect you if you’re not using the Superfish menu template.

GuestHi I have noticed with previous update that Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin needed to be installed to support dropdown menus. Once I have updated to php 7.4, the dropdown menu is no longer visible. This is on hundreds of our websites. Do you have an explanation as to why this is happening and/or do you have a fix in the works to remedy this issue? We are using Superfish
andrea
Plugin AuthorHi Patrick,
The latest Menubar version 5.7.2 no longer needs the “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” plugin, and it works correctly with PHP 7.4.
Could you please check if there are JavaScript errors in your browser console, or PHP errors in your server error log?
Michelle
GuestThanks for the update.

GuestGet an error message after updating to PHP 8.0, using latest verson 6.0.2 of WordPress it reads:
“Warning: Undefined variable $level in /homepages/32/d280826489/htdocs/dacostatalent/wp-content/plugins/menubar-templates/Suckerfish/wpm3.php on line 14”
– – –
While on the menubar edit page, when I take an ‘edit’ action I also get:
“Warning: Undefined property: stdClass::$depth in /homepages/32/d280826489/htdocs/dacostatalent/wp-content/plugins/menubar/wpm-edit.php on line 292
Warning: Undefined property: stdClass::$exclude in /homepages/32/d280826489/htdocs/dacostatalent/wp-content/plugins/menubar/wpm-edit.php on line 294
Warning: Undefined property: stdClass::$headings in /homepages/32/d280826489/htdocs/dacostatalent/wp-content/plugins/menubar/wpm-edit.php on line 296”

GuestA second thought on the above post:
I went back to PHP 7.4 and everything works again. This plugin is obviously not compatible with PHP 8.0 just yet. Unfortunately IONIOS is pushing me off of PHP 8.0 shortly.
Please reply as to when this plugin maybe compatible with PHP 8.0.
Thank you so much.
andrea
Plugin AuthorHi James,
Thank you for your report!
I’m going to take a look and I hope a new Menubar version compatible with PHP 8.0 will be available in a few days. I’ll get back to you as soon as it’s ready.
andrea
Plugin AuthorHi James,
I’m unable to replicate the error messages you are getting.
Which Menubar version are you using?
