Thanks for answering my previous question. I have very little coding experience so I really appreciate your support.
I have another question. The drop down menu on one of the search filters I have is too long so I cannot see all the way down? How do I limit the height of the drop down and add a scroll bar?
Hi Angeline,
As far as I know, the number of options shown in a drop down is determined by the browser and can’t be changed with HTML or CSS.
If you google this topic you’ll find many ways to write different controls (I like this one: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/570642/height-of-an-html-select-box-dropdown), but they require a good programmer and plenty of coding time to be implemented.
Can you suggest an alternative? Can we allow users to type and auto-populate the field based on the list?
If you don’t use a select, and use a text input with autocomplete instead, the user can enter any text, even different from the options provided.
If that’s OK with you, you still have to modify the form template and, again, you need good programming skills.
